Death. . .

Posted in Uncategorized on February 28, 2008 by lifeofanentrepreneur

Death: the act of dying; the end of life; the total and permanent cessation of all the vital functions. According to the dictionary that’s what it is. But one really has to think about it. How many times have you died in your lifetime? Let me break it down. The end of life; how many times have you given that description to something in your life? Good or bad. If you had a bad habit and you properly took care of it and “Ended its life” that’s a good thing. I’ve seen people kill off cancer, drug problems, smoking and many other things that were going to “kill” them if they didn’t kill it. And the death of these habits or diseases allowed for the rebirth of something new and great! Health, wealth, or prosperity whatever ever it maybe it was great! Death isn’t always bad. I’m dead to my old self. I am no where near the man I used and I’m happy for that. I have a purpose to my life! I love the word “LIFE“: the general or universal condition of human existence. How many of you feel like you exist and have a definite purpose? Or how many of you are just passing bye with no definite purpose? What I want to point out in all of this is how many people have put to death something good. How many dreams have you had that you put to death for the sake of security? Are you really doing now what you always wanted to do? Are you that film producer, that rap artist, that photographer, the doctor, financially free, healthy, anything that you want, are you there? I do research on prosperity and people who have it. One of the people that I researched lately was Brad Pitt. We would have to agree that Brad Pitt is successful with his endeavors. But I know that Brad Pitt had two choices; he was only 2 credits shy of graduating with a journalism degree. That’s not even a full college course. But he put to death the idea of being a journalist to give life to a very extreme dream of being a number one actor. But he did it anyway. But only he had the choice of what to do. He kept giving life to his dream and put to death the idea of doing something he didn’t want to do. He left college, with just $325 dollars in his pocket and headed to Hollywood with pretty much no acting experience. All he had was a dream that was alive! But it still wasn’t easy. Have you ever wanted something so bad you said “I would give anything to be a Billionaire, to play the piano like that, to be that healthy, to be. . .” and find out it’s a lot harder than it looks and just give up, and put to death that idea or dream. The easiest thing anyone can do, in anything, is quit. School is to hard just quit. Trying to be a Brother is to hard, just quit, the relationship is to rough just quit. If you really want to the easy way out just put the idea to rest. But for those who want it enough, you have to have the mentality that “come hell or high water” you will achieve that goal, that dream, nothing is impossible for you! Nothing worth having comes easy. It’s going to be difficult, that is why you appreciate it once it actually comes to life. Once Brad Pitt got to Hollywood, he lived in numerous places for free rent, and eventually lived with 8 guys in a townhouse with nothing but a toaster oven, a TV, and a stereo system with no other furniture, not even a bed. He came again to a crossroads, he could stick out here, or go back to school, finish up the 2 credits and live a more certain secure life. As if that wasn’t hard enough, Brad Pitt of all people was the dude in the chicken outfit for El Pollo Loco fast food restaurant on the side of the road with the sign. Most people would have just giving’ up right there, put to death a dream or idea. Very few people have enough vitality, or life in themselves and their dreams to see it through. After that chicken thing, Brad Pitt went on to deliver fridges, assist a soap opera writer, sold cigarettes, and also drove strippers around in a limousine. Then after a while of doing that, he caught his break and the rest was history as the say. My point is this. He had enough life is his dreams to never gave up!
I’m going to end with this. LIVE!!! Put
LIFE back into your dreams, hopes and aspirations. Follow your bliss of being a writer, football player, or the World Series of Poker Champion. Because no matter how weird and extreme your dream is, no one can make it come true but you, no one can live it but you. No one can give up on it and put it to death but you! Are you going to living with a dream, or dead in mediocrity in the next 10-15 years? It’s your choice.

Life and Passion. . .

Posted in Uncategorized on February 27, 2008 by lifeofanentrepreneur

Life: The sum of the distinguishing phenomena of organisms, esp. metabolism, growth, reproduction, and adaptation to environment. In my opinion, I would take the key words in this definition to be Growth, Reproduction, and Adaptation. That’s what separates us from the rock on the side of the road, or the piece of steel that was used to construct the frame of your car or bike. We have the ability to live to our full potential!

Growth. When you think of growth you think of a plants growth into maturity, you think of a child’s growth into adulthood, or even the growth of inflation, and why the gas prices are growing so high. But how many of you actually thought about the growth of your potential? Did you think about your growth into a world leader? What about your growth as a parent? Or what about your growth in self confidence that you can absolutely achieve anything in the world that you want?

Reproduction. When you think about reproduction, some of you might have thought about the reproduction of human life. Or you might have thought about the reproduction of a car or any other manufactured good. But did any of you think about the reproduction of a life of success, happiness, and prosperity?

Adaptation. And finally we come to adaptation. It might be the adaptation of a play. It might also be an adaptation to different climate, or maybe even a new family member. But did you ever think about the adaptation to our new economy? Where the bachelors degrees of colleges are now a dime a dozen? Or what about the rising growth of technology replacing to work force now days? Did you know that the government is now planning to work on a completely automated military? No more human lives will put on the line, and yet so many people will lose a job, a lifestyle. Many will perish in this wake due to inability to adapt. So before I go any further with that let’s bring this all back. Life is the ability to grow, reproduce, and adapt. That really makes a lot of sense. You really want to grow, become something greater, and continue the process. You want to be able to adapt, because you won’t survive without that ability, and then you also want to reproduce your success. It would be totally selfish for you not want to reproduce your success. All the great minds left behind some form or reproduction in order insure their legacies. That is why Beethoven wrote down his symphonies; that is why Aristotle kept records of his teaching; that is why Christianity has the Bible. If you become something great, leave a way to reproduce it!

We all have the ability to be the next Oprah; we all have it in us to be the next Mozart, or the next Paul Orberson. But it takes extreme growth to reach it. Allow you’re self to grow! Read books about the potential for you to grow! There’s audio books, ebooks, countless text that will help point you in the right direction to grow. But you have to take the first step.

The biggest thing to me out of list is adaptation. If you don’t have the ability to adapt and conquer, it doesn’t matter how well you grow or reproduce, if you can’t adapt, then you “die”. A great example of this is medieval warfare. Swords, shields, helms, axes, horses where all apart of these battle tactics. At the pinnacle of medieval warfare, people grew to amazing status and world “conquerors” such as Alexander the Great, and Genghis Kahn. These men had the ability to grow into something great! But what they lacked was reproduction, as soon as they died, the left no one who grew with them to what they where and so their empires died. Another thing is the advancement of technology. The gun, the cannon, the mortar, and many other war machines had taken over the battle fields. It was with those advancements that many nations fell due to their inability to adapt to the changing times. So in order for a thing to survive and thrive you have to have a balance of all things. One more example is so recent it’s apparent in every day life! It has come to my attention that rich get rich, the poor get poorer, and the middle class is being eliminated all together. I do believe with all my heart this is because of the inability to adapt. As you’ve seen many of my other blogs you will know the statistics of our economy. The reason why these statistics are true is because we grow up in a society made for us to conform. So many people I talk to are so willing to not grow, adapt, or reproduce prosperity that will eventually be weeded out, because they could not “Live”. And notice how I used the word prosperity. Not rich, not wealthy, but prosperous, which is a successful, flourishing, or thriving condition. People who haven’t caught onto this will die, maybe not physically, but economically, socially, mentally, and personally.

So it all boils down to this. My conclusion will come down to this, and I really hope you read this and get back to me with what you think.

Passion: intense, driving, or overpowering feeling or emotion.

I have found my passion. My passion is to save as many people as I can from financial stress. I found a company that allows life to be breathed back into people who normally would have rolled over and died. I know almost every one reading this is not financially free. I know this because just 5% of people can actually claim that.

My company has growth. Not just any growth, amazing growth! It is financially growing, the partners we are growing, and the whole company from our President on down is growing. But the big thing is that we are not just growing with money. We are growing as people. I know that everyone who has been apart of it long enough has seen a change in ones self. I know that I have finally found a meaning to my life. I know that I have the power to be what I want. I have access to people who feel the same way. I have grown as person beyond belief. I believe in my self as well as my partners that we can achieve anything. I did not gain that from a class in college, or a professor or counselor taught me that. It was taught to me by people who believe in themselves, have a purpose, and who are in my business. How many people can actually say that about where they work?

The reproduction of this company is actually its back bone. I know any one who is coachable and has some ambition can come in and make this thing work. I met the most amazing people this weekend in Las Vegas. These people are at the top of our company and making things work in a big way. But the one thing they all lack was an ego! They were all down to earth. The other big thing was that they are just ordinary people. I was taller than everyone there. One guy went to a BUSINESS meeting in Wrangler Jeans, a Cowboy hat, and a rein-stone belt. I mean for crying out loud one man was an ex-horse hoof trimmer. And yet he was able to achieve his financial dreams. They are ordinary people doing extraordinary things. You know why? It’s because what we have can be reproduced. Anyone can come in, stay coachable and become free. Anyone! Dentist, baker, doctor, student, attorney, assistant, scientist, pastor, absolutely anyone under the sun who wants something different can come in and be free.

The last factor is adaptation, which is the one thing I find most important. Our company is like non other ever. We adapt better than anything I have ever seen. The way we ride trends, the way we are moving faster than almost any company ever, the way we continue to go through barriers! Everything! The one thing that really it teaches us is how to adapt to a dying economy. Most people would have just died and lay down and let themselves become a statistic. But our company breathes “life” into those who are willing to fight for a way out! Instead of looking into the future and seeing things in a grim and dismal light, we can look into the future and see hope, prosperity, life, and chance!

So I am enjoying my Life. I Live with hope. I love what I do! But there is one thing that I want to get straight with everyone who reads this is this. I don’t want to become successful and prosperous and know that I didn’t tell everyone that I know. I don’t want to be the only one with a chance. I don’t want be at the top knowing I could have saved you and I didn’t tell you. If you’ve seen what I’m doing, then look at it again. If you haven’t seen what I’m doing then let me show you. If you’ve heard from some one else about what I do than that doesn’t count. Unless you’ve been personally shown by me, than you’ve never seen what I have. Or if you tried and had something come up and want to come back. I don’t want to become successful and know you didn’t get a chance to know. If you see it, and decide no, then we will both have comfort of knowing that you made the choice not to. So just ask. Because something big is about to happen; people will begin to live again! You’re either the pavement or the steamroller. Its your choice.

It depends how you look at it. . .

. . . the countryside, the city, your life. It all depends on how you sit back and take in what is given to you.  As times get hard and you feel you’re at your breaking point.  It’s very wise to sit back a second, find a quiet place to sit and think, and analyze your circumstance from a third party perspective.  Chances are, you’ll see why the problem occured, and find the solution.

Over the past few weeks, a lot of good things have happened in my business.  We partnered up with a very prestigious restaurant in our capital city.   We signed extensions for our current partners. We’ve piqued the interest of some possible new partners, and we were recognized through-out the largest gathering in my industry.  It’s a great ride. But in comes the responsibility.

We are victims of our own success.  In come the request for our services from all around our state.  Now don’t get me wrong.  I love to win.  But after 6 hours long hours on the road talking to clients, and 6 hours at my computer working away at our website, I was about to break with the long, sometimes tedious work that yet needed to be done.

I had finally reached my breaking point. I was about to boil over in raw emotion of being overwhelmed.  That is when I had to leave the room and go for a drive and get some fresh air.

I have a thinking spot near where I work.  It’s on hill overlooking the city and my state’s landscape.  There I can just sit. Look.  Feel.  It gives me an opportunity to sit and think about things.  Really to put my life into perspective and really calm down.

I recently bought a car from a friend.  It’s a VERY nice car.  But unfortunately I could not figure out how to recline the chair. So after a few weeks of searching I just gave up.  So I pull into my thinking spot, pull out my Black&Mild cigar, throw on some classical music and think.  I thought for a good hour, just on my business, where its going, other business ideas, family, GOD, relationships. Everything.  That one hour of “Me” time helped to calm me, and revitalize my outlook on work.

Sometimes people underestimate the power of “Me” time.  Just give it a shot the next time you feel stressed.  Find a quiet spot where you know you can relax.  Just sit back and think for an hour.  An alone time.  A me time.  A time where you can think about your problems from a third party perspective. Ask yourself “Why?” are things turning out the way they are.  Think “How can I fix it?”.  And finally, just take time to be grateful.  While you sit there for an hour, things will pop up that make you smile.  Be grateful for all the small things that you get and they will lead to bigger joys in life.

So as I sat there pondering the days events, I put my hand at my side and located the recliner lever. Success!!! I was able to adjust my seat to the preferred height. and be comfortable.  When I was driving, the adjusted height allowed me to see better through all my windows and mirrors. It seemed as though I was looking through a set of new eyes.

It was when I was driving home I realized that all your problems need is to be seen as a challenge, not an obstacle. If you seem to be in over your head.  Take some “Me” time, sit back, look at your life in a third party perspective, try to solve your problems then. You never know, your next”Me” time, might lead to an adjustment in your “seat”, which could lead to a better outlook on life.

“A vision without a task is but a dream…

Posted in Uncategorized on February 7, 2008 by lifeofanentrepreneur

…a task without a vision is drudgery, but a vision and a task is the hope of the world.”  Today was a mixed day.  I realized something important though.  Once you commit yourself to a project, you must get to a mental disposition to where nothing can sway you from completing the task.  I’d lost track of that the past couple of months.

I truely want to see this thing through.  Come hell or high water.  It’s often very difficult to maintain a positive mindset when nothing seems to go right.  Yet through the fog of war in my office, a gleam of light always shows through when I need it most, to keep me on track.

Alexa.com is a website that ranks all the websites (now over 100 million active websites) from one going on down.  The ranking is based on traffic and relevance, and other complicated matters I’m not to sure about. All I know is that when people want to see how well their Web site is doing they go there.  According to alexa.com today, my business jumped from 607,000 to 500,000 in one day.  That is significant.  My company jumped ahead of 100,000 other companies on the world wide web.  Out of over 100 million websites, only 500,000 are ranked higher.  That says a lot for a website that’s been up and running for only 3 months.

That small gleam of light was enough to get me back on track and it reminded me to keep the big picture in mind.  I still have months, if not years of hard work ahead of me.  But I do see what I’m working for, and thats why I’m gonna stick it out.

We have to maintain the vision, and make and achieve tasks to get to that vision.  Only then can one truly become a success.

It’s still 2 in the morning, but I feel less burdened and more enlightened.  The only way from here is up.  Come with me. . .

Take what you get…

Posted in Uncategorized on February 6, 2008 by lifeofanentrepreneur

…that’s all it really comes down to.  Through all the things going on, there is always a hidden indication of something good, or a new piece of the puzzle that is to elusive final product.  In my case, it’s success.  Sometime it’s harder to find that clue amongst the distractions in your life, but they’re there.

Today I was given a healthy dose of obstacles.  A 165 mile round trip car ride for one purpose: to gain clientele. Except for at the end of it all, I gained nothing but an empty gas tank and frustration. There was not one definite yes the entire day, and I got lost for an hour and a half in the dark out skirts of my metropolitan area.

The day wasn’t a complete failure.  There were a few interests.  A few brave souls willing to take a chance on a brilliant idea.  Quite literally, my company is a gift from God for them.  Unfortunately, I’m an unproven gift from God.  If that’s possible?  Either way, there were interest, but no firm “yes I’m in”.

Normally that doesn’t bother me.  I’m used to it.  In my line of business, you have to be.  You wont survive to see another day if your skin isn’t as thick as iron.  What gets me is that, in time, all the “no’s” turn into a dripping acid, rusting away at an iron-hide that could normally withstand the worst pessimist concussion.

Not saying I’m going to throw in the towel, they just sting after a while. But you have to take what you get.  Right now, it’s only 1:37 a.m. and I get a chance to go to sleep early. Possibly read my book.  Travel somewhere I long to be.  Leave the clouded dread of the day-to-day battles and arrive at the lush utopia of luxury and affluence of my mind.

I think of this often.  It’s my goal.  It’s why I wake up and work so hard. I believe that we can achieve anything if it’s thought out properly and one works diligently at it. Key words: thought, diligently and work.  There is a difference between working hard and smart, and hard and stupid.  Plenty of people work long hours to achieve something they don’t want.  It’s like trying to break out of a prison, only to dig into the cell right next to you.  You have to think it through. Find a game plan.  Know what the best way to operate things is.  Then once you’ve achieved that, have to diligently work.  You can plan all day, but if you don’t work, it’s just going to stay a plan, and you’ll stay in the same position as yesterday.  What you have to do is work and work hard.  Then add diligence.  Knowing what to work at, and manage to stay focused on it, as to not lose track of your goals, and work backwards instead of forwards.

Yet even the strongest willed become weary.  What then?  Where does a leader go for guidance in a word of corruption and death?  Some go to drugs or alcohol.  Some turn to affairs with their secretaries.  And some just give up.  Some thrive. Some grow. I just wanted to sit there and hope that this hard time will pass buy. But I know that that won’t solve anything.  So I prayed.  I prayed for something. Anything.  A sign, an idea, I would have even taken a stoplight to stay green and not red.  Anything to get me through the slump of corporate jargon trying to tell me “I’ve been to (lazy, preoccupied, mad, uninterested) to be able to look over your docs, but if you come back in a few days, I might have an answer (and I hope that all the running around I have you doing will discourage you enough to leave us alone).”  And then they have the nerve to shake my hand and smile.  Pompous swine.  It’s going to take a lot more than making me run around the state to stop asking you for your business.  Believe me, I don’t mind.  I would rather say I earned your business, not given.  I feel sorry for them.  They are the ones that are going to have to deal with my calls, email, letters, and face for the next three months.

By the time I returned home, I was mentally, emotionally, and physically exhausted. Not to mention my business partner has high-blood pressure and short fuse.  Dejected I sat here, hoping, waiting, for the smallest answer to my prayer.

As I sat there it came to me in two different forms. The reminder of what I do is bigger than me. That anything worth living for is worth fighting for.  By going through what I’m going through now is what my role models went through.  That the greatest people in history had problems that needed to be resolved, a goal that was possibly set to high, a wound that cut to deep, a loss that was too much.  But what made these normal people into extraordinary successes is what they did with the adversity.  Winston Churchill, Martin Luther King Jr., Mahatma Gandhi, Joan of Arc, Donald Trump Michelangelo, all these individuals had something bigger than themselves to work for.  And at points when a normal person would have given up, they bit their lip and pressed forward to achieve greatness. That’s where I hope to be.  That’s what keeps me going through the hardest times. The second form came in the shape of an old friend.  Knowing you have someone there for you in the end really makes a difference. They might not be in the trenches with you, but they can at least through you down some water when the flames of everyday life seem to sap away your strength, energy, or positive mental attitude. Someone to tell you the truth, yet support you at the same time.  I found that person.  Not to say I lost them.  But they were there for me today when I needed it most, and I appreciate it.

Take what you get. Given 165 mile round trip for nothing.  What I got out of it was a reminder of the path I chose, and why it’s so difficult and destined for greatness, and a true friend that has my back. To briefly help shoulder a burden that is sometimes hard to bear.  What it gave me?  Another breath for tomorrow’s race towards success.

It’s 2:33 a.m…

Posted in Uncategorized on February 5, 2008 by lifeofanentrepreneur

…and I’m still not asleep.  Nothing new.  8 a.m.-3 a.m. days are a norm for me.  I read once “If you believe it, you can make it happen. That’s all you need, is belief – and of course the willingness to follow through on whatever needs to be done on your part.” So here I am, believing that for the past year and a half that such a great business idea can succeed. I’ve put in 18 hour days, 100 hour weeks, in “follow through”. I just need that one opportunity.  That one shot.  That takes this good idea, and makes it a great reality.

Now I’m no stranger to operating a business.  Having owned and operated two successful business’s prior to this, I’m very aware of the amount of work needed to succeed. But the difference in this one is that it’s an original concept.  My prior businesses had been done before, and had been a success before.  I just piggybacked the good idea.  Not this one. I’m sure someone in the world had thought of a concept such as this, but nothing has come to fruition.  After the amount of work put into it thus far, I can see why.

But here I am, on the verge of something big, alone at the kitchen table, at my computer.  I’ve often asked myself “why go through with this?” It’s too hard.  Everyone before has failed.  You’re all alone.  Chose a life of safety and security, with no surprises.  I would rather not.  I want a life of abundance.  Something where I control what goes on.  I make the calls.  I am “The Man”.

Does a life like that actually exist?  I believe it to exist.  What I’ve found on the path to this success is an extraordinary amount of failure and hard times.  I understand why self-made people have such strong character.

Feeling more like an adventurer in unknown territory, than an actual business owner, I find myself in virgin territory with the wonders of life and success before me, right behind the hazardous vines and beasts of the lone march to success. I see the ones that made it, Basking in the glory of freedom.  But one cannot help but get side tracked by the remains of those that gave up, those that died trying or those that wander aimlessly, hoping for their big chance, or just hoping not to get fired.

I remain steadfast. I believe in what I want.  I’ll do everything in my ability to get it.  That is if I don’t let me fear and pessimism get to me first.

I’m mentally tough.  Anyone that can work for a year and a half, 100 hours a week, for free, is mentally tough.  A person like me has tasted a drip of the bitter bottle of what it takes to be a success.  I just hope I like the taste.  Or at least I hope I’m strong enough to stomach the rest of the bottle.

Either way, here I go, into uncharted territory.  Not quite sure what to expect.  All I know is I can’t expect anything easy.  I maintain my positive mental attitude, because I have nothing left to fall back on but Faith in God, myself, and my business.

With that attitude I plan to conquer the world.
